With a focus on building their own identity, agency, and social capital, scholars are prepared to adapt across their careers in the 21st century economy.
The Brooklyn STEAM Center is an innovative career and technical training hub for 11th and 12th grade students, immersed within a robust industry environment, which prepares a pipeline of talented young adults who will thrive in the rapidly evolving manufacturing, technology, and creative fields. At STEAM, students engage in high quality professional work, develop robust and real industry networks, and explore tangible pathways to economic opportunity, all within the industry ecosystem at the Brooklyn Navy Yard - a 300 acre industrial park that houses over 400 businesses in cutting-edge industries.

The Brooklyn STEAM Center is located within the Brooklyn Navy Yard, a robust industry ecosystem of over 400 businesses that span manufacturing, technology, food, fashion and media. The Brooklyn Navy Yard Development Corporation leads industry advising and engagement, including:
Convening an Advisory Council of 30+ businesses and higher education partners
Coordinating Industry feedback loops to inform the curriculum
Creating opportunities for work based learning
